Fighting gender based violence, sexual reproductive health rights, prevention of HIV & promotion of ARV therapy literacy project.

With a grant support from International Assistance Advisory work group OSSTF/FEESO, IYAU in 2017 implemented a project titled “fighting gender based violence, sexual reproductive health rights, prevention of HIV & promotion of ARV therapy literacy project” in the Sub counties of Katine and Gweri in Soroti district and Kadungulu and Atiira Sub counties in Serere district for a period of 12 month starting from May 2017 to April 2018.

The grant support assisted us to successfully safeguard the dignity and integrity of women, Girls and children through reducing social tolerance to Violence against Women and girls, promotion of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, prevention of HIV and promotion of Antiretroviral therapy literacy (ARV Therapy) and through training in Vocational, business and entrepreneurial skills coupled with provision of micro credit interest free loans for business start-ups.

The project supported more than 4,000 Women and 3,000 girls in Soroti and Serere districts to claim and defend their right to: sexual and reproductive health; a life free of violence; and to gain control over their lives and productive resources
